5 Stars!
Excellent!
THE READING LESSON by Michael Levin and Charan Langton is simply spectacular!
As a mother of three children, two of which can't read yet, and as a child
care provider, and a regular volunteer at The Judy Center Pre-School program
in Maryland. I found this book extremely resourceful.
The adorable illustrations caught my children's attention immediately.
As we went through the book, my children eagerly participated. I'm thrilled
with their progress. In addition, as a mother of a ten-year-old child,
I know just how difficult teaching children to read can be. I wish this
helpful book were available to me when my oldest was learning to read.
The simple design and wording of the instructions is so easy that my ten-year-old
is helping my three and four year-old children how to read.
I highly recommend THE READING LESSON for every parent with young children
or for parents with a child who has reading difficulties.
One of the authors of this book is a pediatrician who specializes in childhood
behavior, attention, and learning problems of young children. Mr. Levin
and Charan Langton, co-author and consulting engineer in signal processing,
put together this splendid book for children after one failed attempt
after another in teaching their four-year-old daughter, Nina, how to read.
Take my advice. This book works! My young children can point out letters
and read easy small words that they couldn't do before we began THE READING
LESSON. A CD-Rom is included with each book.
